Paint Calculation Formula
Paint Needed = (Length × Height × Sides × Coats) ÷ Coverage per Gallon
Where:
• Length = Total fence length (feet)
• Height = Fence height (feet)
• Sides = Number of sides to paint
• Coats = Number of paint coats
• Coverage = Square feet covered by one gallon
To convert:
• Liters = Gallons × 3.78541
• Cost = Gallons × Price per Gallon
Example Calculation
Example: 50ft × 6ft Fence, 2 Sides, 2 Coats
Length: 50 feet
Height: 6 feet
Sides: 2
Coats: 2
Coverage: 350 sq ft/gal
Calculation:
Area per coat = 50 × 6 × 2 = 600 sq ft
Total area = 600 × 2 coats = 1200 sq ft
Paint needed = 1200 ÷ 350 = 3.43 gallons
Converted:
3.43 gallons = 13.0L = Cost: $68-$102 (at $20-$30/gal)
