Compressor Map Calculator
Calculate compressor performance, plot operating points, and analyze turbocharger efficiency for your engine setup.
Step 1: Engine Specifications
Understanding Compressor Maps
Compressor maps show the operating range of a turbocharger compressor. The X-axis represents airflow (lb/min), and the Y-axis represents pressure ratio. Efficiency islands show areas where the compressor operates most efficiently.
Step 2: Turbocharger Specifications
About Turbocharger Selection
Proper turbo sizing is critical for performance. A turbo that’s too small will create excessive backpressure and heat, while one that’s too large will have significant lag. The ideal turbo operates near the center of the efficiency islands at your target boost level.

Reading the Compressor Map
The compressor map shows the operating range of your turbocharger. The colored islands represent efficiency zones (typically 60-78%). Your operating point should ideally be in the highest efficiency zone for your target boost level, while maintaining adequate surge margin.

Turbo Selection Recommendations
Based on your engine specifications
Your 2.0L engine at 15 psi boost requires approximately 34 lb/min of airflow. The GT3076R is well-suited for this application, providing good response and top-end power. Consider a smaller turbo like the GT2860R for faster spool, or a larger GT3582R for higher power potential with more lag.
