Intercooler Calculator
Calculate intercooler efficiency, pressure drop, and temperature reduction with our comprehensive calculator. Optimize your turbocharged or supercharged setup for maximum performance.
Step 1: Temperature Inputs
Understanding Temperature Readings
The inlet temperature is the temperature of air entering the intercooler from the turbo/supercharger. The outlet temperature is the cooled air exiting the intercooler. Ambient temperature is the outside air temperature.
Step 2: Pressure Inputs & Options
About Intercooler Efficiency
Intercooler efficiency measures how effectively an intercooler cools compressed air. Higher efficiency means cooler intake temperatures, which increases air density and engine power. Most performance intercoolers achieve 70-85% efficiency.

Intercooler Efficiency Formula
Efficiency = (Tin – Tout) / (Tin – Tamb) × 100%
To calculate intercooler efficiency, subtract the outlet temperature from the inlet temperature, then divide by the difference between inlet and ambient temperature, and multiply by 100 to get a percentage. For example: (120°C – 45°C) / (120°C – 25°C) × 100% = 78.9%.
