How to Track Baby Movements

1. Choose a time when your baby is usually active (often after meals)
2. Sit or lie down comfortably in a quiet place
3. Count each distinct movement (kick, roll, flutter, hiccup)
4. Stop counting when you reach 10 movements
5. Note how long it took to feel 10 movements

Most babies will have 10 movements within 2 hours. If it takes longer or movements decrease significantly, contact your healthcare provider.

Movement Patterns by Trimester

Typical Fetal Movement Patterns

Weeks 20-24: Flutters, occasional kicks (5-10 per hour)
Weeks 25-28: More regular kicks, rolls (10-15 per hour)
Weeks 29-32: Peak movement period (15-30 per hour)
Weeks 33-36: Less rolling, more jabs (10-20 per hour)
Weeks 37-40: Less space, different movements (8-15 per hour)

Every baby is different. What’s most important is knowing your baby’s normal pattern and noticing significant changes.
