Anion Gap = Sodium – (Chloride + Bicarbonate)
The anion gap represents unmeasured anions in plasma. Normal range is 8-12 mmol/L. Corrected anion gap = Calculated AG + 0.25 × (40 – albumin). Delta ratio = (AG – 12) ÷ (24 – HCO₃).
