Wax Calculator
Calculate how much wax you need for your candle making, wax melts, and other wax crafting projects. Determine optimal wax requirements based on container size, wax type, and fragrance load.
Step 1: Container Specifications
Understanding Fill Percentage
For candles, it’s recommended to fill containers to 85-90% to allow for proper wax pool and fragrance throw. For wax melts, you can fill to 100% as they don’t need room for a melt pool.
Step 2: Wax Parameters
About Fragrance Load
Most waxes have a recommended fragrance load between 6-10% of total wax weight. Exceeding the recommended load can cause poor burn performance, soot, or fragrance oil seepage.

Wax Calculation Formula
Total Wax = (Container Volume × Fill% × Number of Containers × Wax Density) / (1 – Fragrance%)
To calculate wax requirements: Multiply container volume by fill percentage and container count, then by wax density, then divide by (1 – fragrance percentage as decimal).
