Grout Calculator
Calculate the grout needed for your tiling project. Understand how tile size, spacing, and grout type affect your material requirements and costs.
Step 1: Tile & Area Details
Understanding Grout Joints
Grout joint width affects how much grout you’ll need. Wider joints require more grout. Standard joints are 1/8″ to 1/4″ for floor tiles and 1/16″ to 1/8″ for wall tiles.
Step 2: Material Details
About Grout Types
Sanded grout is for joints 1/8″ or wider. Unsanded is for joints less than 1/8″. Epoxy is waterproof and stain-resistant but more expensive. Urethane offers flexibility and stain resistance.

Grout Formula
Grout Volume = (Tile Area × Joint Width × Joint Depth) × (1 + Waste Factor)
The grout needed depends on total tile area, joint width and depth, plus waste factor for mixing and spillage. Different grout types have different coverage rates per bag.
