Electric Vehicle Charging Time Calculator
Calculate EV charging times for different battery capacities, charging speeds, and power levels. Plan your electric vehicle charging efficiently.
Step 1: Battery & Charging Details
Understanding Charging Times
Charging time depends on battery capacity, current charge level, target charge level, and charger power. Level 1 chargers are typically home outlets, Level 2 are dedicated EV chargers, and DC Fast Chargers are public rapid chargers.
Step 2: Additional Options
About Charging Efficiency
Charging efficiency accounts for energy loss during the charging process. Typical efficiency ranges from 85-95%. Lower efficiency means more energy is needed to charge the battery, resulting in longer charging times.

Charging Time Breakdown
Charging Time Formula
Charging Time = (Battery Capacity × (Target % – Current %) / 100) / (Charger Power × Efficiency / 100)
To calculate charging time: Multiply battery capacity by the percentage difference between target and current charge, then divide by the charger power adjusted for efficiency. For example: 75 kWh battery from 20% to 80% with 11 kW charger at 90% efficiency = (75 × 0.6) / (11 × 0.9) ≈ 4.55 hours.
