Concrete Load Calculator — Calculate Concrete Volume & Materials

Concrete Load Calculator

Calculate concrete volume in cubic yards, cubic meters, and bags. Determine materials needed for slabs, footings, columns, and other concrete structures.

Step 1: Project Dimensions

20.0
10.0
4.0

Concrete Volume Formula

Cubic Yards = (Length × Width × (Thickness/12)) ÷ 27
Concrete Bags = Cubic Yards × 45 (for 80lb bags)

Step 2: Project Type & Options

Common Concrete Thickness

Sidewalks: 4 inches
Patios: 4-6 inches
Driveways: 6 inches
Footings: 8-12 inches
Foundation Slabs: 8-10 inches

Concrete Volume Formulas

Cubic Yards = (Length × Width × (Thickness/12)) ÷ 27

Where:
• Length = Project length in feet
• Width = Project width in feet
• Thickness = Concrete thickness in inches
• 12 converts inches to feet
• 27 converts cubic feet to cubic yards

To convert:
• Cubic Meters = Cubic Yards × 0.764555
• Cubic Feet = Cubic Yards × 27
• Bags = Cubic Yards × 45 (for 80lb bags)

Example Calculation

Example: 20×10 ft Patio at 4″ Thickness

Length: 20 feet
Width: 10 feet
Thickness: 4 inches

Calculation:
(20 × 10 × (4/12)) ÷ 27 =
(200 × 0.333) ÷ 27 =
66.67 ÷ 27 =
2.47 cubic yards

Bags required:
2.47 × 45 = 111 bags (80lb each)
