Concrete Material Cost Calculator
Calculate concrete material costs for your project. Determine cubic yards, bags needed, and total cost for slabs, footings, and other concrete structures.
Step 1: Project Dimensions
Concrete Volume Formula
Cubic Yards = (Length × Width × (Thickness/12)) ÷ 27
For circular areas: π × (Radius²) × (Thickness/12) ÷ 27
Step 2: Cost & Materials
Typical Concrete Costs
Standard mix: $125-$150 per cubic yard
High-strength: $150-$180 per cubic yard
Fiber-reinforced: $140-$170 per cubic yard
Decorative: $200-$250+ per cubic yard

Concrete Calculation Formulas
Volume Calculation (Rectangular Area)
Cubic Yards = (Length × Width × (Thickness/12)) ÷ 27
Where:
• Length & Width in feet
• Thickness in inches (divided by 12 to convert to feet)
• Divide by 27 to convert cubic feet to cubic yards
Bag Calculation
Bags Needed = (Cubic Yards × 27) ÷ (Bag Size in cubic feet)
• Standard 60lb bag = 0.45 cubic feet
• Standard 80lb bag = 0.6 cubic feet
Example: 3.7 cubic yards = 100 cubic feet = 222 (60lb) bags
Example Calculation
Example: 20′ × 10′ × 6″ Driveway
Length: 20 feet
Width: 10 feet
Thickness: 6 inches (0.5 feet)
Volume in cubic feet:
20 × 10 × 0.5 = 100 cubic feet
Convert to cubic yards:
100 ÷ 27 = 3.7 cubic yards
Add 10% wastage:
3.7 × 1.10 = 4.07 cubic yards
Cost at $135/yard:
4.07 × $135 = $550 + $100 delivery = $650 total
